Lead has different impacts on behavior of the native Mexican mojarra and invasive convict cichlid

Our objective was to determine the effect of lead (Pb) on behavior Mexican mojarra, which is native Balsas River basin, and convict cichlid, an exotic invasive there. Both fish species were exposed Pb, followed by Pb depuration, evaluate its impacts behavior. We evaluated swimming activity, predation attempts, prey consumed, foraging efficiency, aggressive behaviors. The behavioral effects differed between two species. While activity decreased in both during exposure, recovered depuration period but not mojarra.
